Creating an Account
Create your account
- Choose Start Free on the public site, or open Create Account.
- Tick the agreement: you agree to the Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy and acknowledge the Privacy Policy, confirming you're at least 18 and accepting for a business you're authorized to bind. Send Verification Code and the Google and GitHub buttons stay disabled until it's ticked.
- Enter your email and choose Send Verification Code, or use Google or GitHub.
- For email signup, enter the verification code from your inbox in the app. Check spam if it does not arrive. You can request another code when the resend control becomes available.
- Complete workspace onboarding if prompted. Returning users can choose Sign In instead.
Your agreement is recorded when the account is created. If it can't be matched to the new account (for example, you signed up with Google from the Sign In page, or more than an hour passed), the app opens Accept the Terms first: tick the box and choose Accept and continue. Then add your business details (see Terms and business details) before your first sync.
Verification and invitation emails are sent as Vectord from notifications@mg.vectord.ai. Enter one-time codes only in the app and never share them.
Signup provides 250 startup credits once for the organization. They do not renew monthly. No payment card is required to create an account, but provider setup is required before syncing.
Your first successful sync
- Select your project. Keep related documents together so you can search them as one collection.
- Configure an embedding provider in Settings. Supply the required API key, or a reachable Ollama endpoint. Provider usage may be billed separately.
- Configure and initialize the project's vector store. Follow the provider-specific setup guide; you may need credentials, a collection/index, or SQL setup. Hosted Vectord must be able to reach self-hosted endpoints.
- Add a source and connect its account, supply its configuration, or upload a small test file you have permission to use.
- Choose a document and run a Standard sync. Confirm it reaches Synced status; a successful standard sync costs 20 credits. Resolve any configuration error before retrying.
- Open Playground → Search and search for a topic in the document. Check the returned passages and source information.
- To use the content in your own application, open Settings → Connection Details and configure retrieval against your vector store. Customer-facing chat or helpdesk integration is a separate implementation.
Enhanced sync requires an LLM configuration and costs 40 credits per successful document sync. Image extraction additionally requires Mistral configuration. Uploaded files and extracted images incur storage credits; external embedding, LLM, OCR, and vector-store services may have their own charges.
