Managing Folder Monitors
Owners and admins can create, rename, pause, resume and delete monitors. Members can view monitor status. Use the app or its monitor API for changes; direct database writes are disabled for user sessions so source/project permissions and configured limits cannot be bypassed.
Creating or resuming a monitor requires an active project with a configured vector store. If a monitor limit is configured, resuming also checks the active-monitor count. A paused monitor stays paused when that check fails. Polling progress, counts and processing timestamps are maintained by background workers.
Viewing Active Monitors
There are two ways to view your folder monitors:
- From a Source Card: Click ⚡ badge (shows count like "⚡3") on a source card to see monitors for that source
- View All Monitors: The monitor list shows all active monitors across sources
Monitor List Display
Each monitor in the list shows:
| Element | Description |
|---|---|
| Provider Icon | Google Drive, S3, or Supabase Storage icon |
| Folder Name | Name of the monitored folder |
| Folder Path | Full path from root (e.g., Team Docs/Legal/Contracts) |
| Status Badge | Active (green), Paused (gray), or Error (red) |
| Last Checked | When the folder was last polled (e.g., "5 minutes ago") |
| Files Found | Total files detected in the folder |
| New Files | Count of new files found in last check |
Monitor Actions
| Action | How | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Pause/Resume | Toggle the switch | Temporarily stop monitoring without deleting |
| Delete | Click trash icon | Permanently remove the monitor |
Deleting a monitor does not affect already-synced documents. They remain in your vector store.
