GitHub

Connect GitHub repositories to browse and sync files, issues, and discussions.

Authentication

GitHub uses standard OAuth 2.0. You will be redirected to GitHub to authorize access. GitHub OAuth tokens do not expire — you only need to reconnect if you revoke access on GitHub.

Supported Content

Content TypeWhat Is Synced
FilesAny supported file type (PDF, DOCX, TXT, MD, HTML, etc.)
IssuesTitle + body + all comments merged into one document
DiscussionsTitle + body + all replies merged into one document

Setup

  1. Navigate to Sources and click Add Source
  2. Under Knowledge Base Connectors, select GitHub
  3. Click Connect — GitHub's OAuth authorization page will open
  4. Authorize the requested permissions
  5. You will be redirected back to Sources with GitHub connected

Browsing

After connecting, each GitHub source shows all repositories you have access to.

Within each repository, three virtual folders are available:

  • Files — Browse the file tree. Only supported file types are shown.
  • Issues — Open issues (excluding pull requests).
  • Discussions — Repository discussions (if enabled).

Notes

  • Only open issues are listed. Closed issues and PRs are excluded.
  • Discussions require the Discussions feature to be enabled in the repository.
  • If GitHub denies access to one organization's repositories (most often because the organization uses SAML single sign-on and this connection isn't authorized for it), the repository list shows a warning row naming that organization instead of hiding the gap. Authorize the connection for the organization on GitHub, then reopen the browser. If GitHub rejects the connection itself or limits requests, the browser shows an error instead of a partial list: reconnect, or wait and retry.
  • Private repositories are accessible if the authenticated user has read access.
  • Files are filtered to supported types. Binary files, images, and lock files are excluded.
  • GitHub wiki pages are not currently supported — GitHub has no official API for wiki content access.
